About the show

A milkman, five daughters, and a village trying to hold on to what it knows.

In the village of Anatevka in 1905 Russia, Tevye the dairyman keeps his balance the way a fiddler keeps his footing on a rooftop, through tradition, stubbornness, and a running argument with God. He has five daughters, very little money, and firm ideas about how a marriage gets arranged.

His daughters have other ideas. One by one they choose for themselves, and each choice asks Tevye to bend a little further than the last, until bending starts to look like breaking. Around all of it, the political weather outside the village keeps darkening toward an ending nobody in Anatevka gets to vote on.

The Bock and Harnick score gave the world Tradition, Matchmaker, If I Were a Rich Man, and Sunrise Sunset, and the show remains one of the most produced musicals in the world for a simple reason: the argument between what we inherit and what we choose never really finishes. Fiddler on the Roof was our debut production, staged in the spring of 2025.
